The monotype is an incredibly versatile, spontaneous and intense medium. It appeals to my natural inclination to allow the
work to grow and change as I work.
The monotypes I’m exhibiting represent my continued interest in the human figure as the most powerful universal symbol.
The body is an essential partner with consciousness.
The forms in the sleepwalking series combine movement with a attempt to marry the abstract and the representational,
which is an essential ingredient in communicating the narrative. These same elements are as important in the other
pieces which carry an equally ambiguous interpretation; the unconscious and the subconscious is both subject and
method in making these pieces.
