Steve Eichenberger
In 1995, my partner Jackie Hurlbert and I gathered up our courage and exchanged the security of paychecks for the uncertainty of making our full time living as artists. It’s turned out to be a rewarding adventure!
Now that I’m undeniably in the second half of life, the poignancy of the adventure is heightened, and I find I want to pour as much of myself as I can muster into each new piece I sculpt.
Do you think art enriches culture—is relevant to the human experience? I do, and I approach art-making with this sense of underlying purpose, to hopefully contribute to the greater good.
Reflection of my work back to me from others helps keep me reaching for more clay; I hope to connect with some of you who find consonance between my work and your life experience.
