Sidonie Caron
Sidonie Caron has had a long and distinguished painting career, mostly in Portland, Oregon. A transplant from England, she was trained at two of London’s most prestigious Art Schools: St.Martin’s School of Art and the Central School of Arts and Crafts.
She is represented in public and private collections around the world, including the states of Oregon and Washington, Portland’s Regional Arts Council and The Visual Chronicle of Portland. In addition, under the aegis of the US program of Art in US Embassies, Sidonie’s paintings were exhibited for two years in the US Embassy in Mauritania, West Africa.
For Sidonie, certain ideas will resonate with her and she will explore the theme in several paintings. In her landscapes, she tries to be nonspecific as far as locale is concerned; although, living in a very beautiful part of the world - Oregon - is an influence. Her goal is to create landscapes that are broad impressions with minimum detail.
